El Tombo was excellent, staff friendly, food great, room lovely.

Reassuring that hostels booked for correct dates and meals etc, with no translation problems. Self-guided suited us very well, we could go at the pace we wanted when the temperature was very high. Guido worked well as map so route finding was fine but we did not see all notifications. The buses are very good and effective (also to Gijon) but having to book day return to lagos is confusing. Other walkers also mentioned this. We will look and may send a photo by email later.

El Tombo fue excelente: el personal muy amable, la comida estupenda y la habitación también.

Nos dio mucha tranquilidad comprobar que los refugios estaban reservados para las fechas correctas y que las comidas estaban organizadas, sin problemas de idioma. El viaje autoguiado nos vino muy bien, ya que pudimos caminar a nuestro ritmo durante los días de mucho calor. Guibo funcionó muy bien como navegación, y fue fácil seguir la ruta, aunque no vimos todas las notificaciones. Los autobuses son muy buenos y eficientes, también para ir a Gijón, pero el sistema de reserva para el trayecto de ida y vuelta a los Lagos resulta algo confuso. Otros senderistas nos comentaron lo mismo. Quizá os enviemos una foto por correo electrónico más adelante.

Porthleven and Padstow were great. The other places were good. The Camel Trail is the perfect finish after so many mountain stages. The bike rental company was excellent. The bikes were perfect. We saw other rental bikes that I wouldn’t have wanted to ride through Cornwall with.

We didn’t really know what to expect, but it was good fun. Angel was a wonderful guide and looked after us very well. It was great to have private family rooms in the lodges on nights two and three and we especially appreciated the attention paid to the children by all of the hosts and guides over the week. It would be great if you would like to recommend some restaurants for visitors especially in Sotres.

We had a really wonderful and enjoyable few days in the Picos and the children gained a lot of confidence from undertaking and succeeding at the trek. I would not hesitate to recommend S-Cape and the trek to other families looking for adventure in the Picos.

Los alojamientos (Villa vasco de gama en Cascais y Nova Sintra en Sintra) de 10. Instalaciones de 10, servicio 10, desayuno 10. Los dos tienen encanto.
Hotel Nova Sintra: tiene restaurantes de cocina tradicional a 10 min. Punto información y estación de tren a 10 min. Estación tranvía a 5 min
Villa vasco de gama: tiene restaurantes a 5 min, estación tren y buses a 15 min.

Me alojé en Praya das Maças, en lugar de Praya grande. Creo fué un acierto ya que la playa es más familiar y fué una de mis favoritas del viaje. Desemboca el río Colares. También hay chiringuito con horno de leña. Supermercado gourmet, piscina pública, un montón de restaurantes, llega el tranvía de Sintra. Todo un acierto. Para mí un sitio muy especial.

The accommodations (Villa Vasco da Gama in Cascais and Nova Sintra in Sintra) were top-notch. Excellent facilities, excellent service and excellent breakfasts. Both places have real charm. Hotel Nova Sintra: traditional restaurants are just a 10-minute walk away, as are the tourist information office and train station. The tram stop is only 5 minutes away. Villa Vasco da Gama: restaurants can be reached in 5 minutes, while the train and bus stations are around 15 minutes away on foot.

I stayed in Praia das Maçãs instead of Praia Grande, and I think it was the right choice. The beach is more family-friendly and was one of my favourites of the whole trip. The Colares River flows into the sea there, and there is also a beach bar with a wood-fired oven. You'll find a gourmet supermarket, a public swimming pool, plenty of restaurants, and the historic Sintra tram also reaches the village. An excellent choice all round. For me, it is a very special place.

No sabíamos muy bien qué esperar, pero la experiencia fue muy divertida. Ángel fue un guía maravilloso y nos cuidó de maravilla durante todo el recorrido. Nos encantó disponer de habitaciones familiares privadas en los refugios durante la segunda y tercera noche, y apreciamos especialmente la atención que todos los anfitriones y guías dedicaron a los niños a lo largo de la semana. Sería estupendo que pudierais recomendar algunos restaurantes a los visitantes, especialmente en Sotres.

Pasamos unos días realmente maravillosos en los Picos de Europa y los niños ganaron mucha confianza en sí mismos al completar con éxito la travesía. No dudaría en recomendar S-Cape y esta ruta a otras familias que busquen una aventura en Picos.

We were slightly surprised that a coastal walk could be as hilly as it was. We were well able for it but if other travellers were taking this trip they should be aware of this. I would say that a least one walking pole is essential for this trek.

It was great that accommodations were close to the beaches for swimming. A/C in the hotel in Muxia and Fisterra would have made sleeping easier but it was OK. All hotels were very comfortable but we liked Pazo do Souto in particular. We got on particularly well with our hosts and spent a long evening with them. We found the places where we stayed just one night especially after a number of days walking a little difficult as you had little time in these places and it was a bit rushed leaving the following morning.

Nos encantaron Porthleven y Padstow. Los demás lugares también estaban bien. El Camel Trail es el final perfecto después de tantas etapas con desnivel.

La empresa de alquiler de bicicletas es excelente y las bicicletas estaban en perfectas condiciones. Vimos otras bicicletas de alquiler durante el viaje con las que no nos habría gustado recorrer Cornualles.

This was an incredible trip. We loved the variety, and flexibility. One of our favourite day treks was the high route over Vega de Liordes. Another fun day was the circular walk in the eastern massive (side trip to a summit in the fog) from Sortes.
The balcony hike to Rifugio Urrierra was stunning. We did this as a day hike, due to inclement weather, and appreciated the flexibility no which allowed us to do so.

The printed maps with the waypoint numbers was extremely helpful. The ActivNav map kept turning itself off on our iPhones.
Hotel Picos de Europa in Posada de Valdeón had the best chicken ever.
All accommodations were clean and comfortable, with friendly staff.

It is a beautiful trip. The path is very well signposted. The accomodation was fine.
1. We would have preferred a booklet with all the routes and town informations. It was a confusing mess when we printed it ourselves. Our own incompetence..
2. Taxi transfers are available everywhere, or even provided free by some accomodations. So there is no need to pre-book, as it is more flexible to arrange on the spot.

Ha sido un viaje increíble. Nos encantó la variedad de rutas y la flexibilidad que ofrecía el programa. Uno de nuestros días favoritos fue la ruta por Vega de Liordes. También disfrutamos mucho de la circular por el macizo oriental desde Sotres, incluyendo una subida adicional a una cumbre entre la niebla. La ruta balcón hasta el refugio de Urriellu es espectacular. Debido al mal tiempo la hicimos ida y vuelta en un día y agradecimos mucho la flexibilidad para adaptar los planes.

Los mapas impresos fueron de gran ayuda. La aplicación ActivNav, sin embargo, se cerraba sola con frecuencia en nuestros iPhones.

El Hotel Picos de Europa, en Posada de Valdeón, sirvió el mejor pollo que hemos probado. Todos los alojamientos eran limpios y cómodos, y el personal fue muy amable.
